In the summer of 2009, the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Systems Engineering was formed through a merger of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics and the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. This website (www.mce.uri.edu) is being phased out and will be replaced by an new merged department website (mcise.uri.edu)
Welcome to our department’s home page. The department offers programs leading to
the BS, MS, and PhD degrees. We have several accredited BS programs, including four programs
in International Engineering (German, French, Spanish and Chinese). If you are a prospective student you will find information
about these programs in the links to the left. There you can also obtain information about our people, facilities, courses,
