Undergraduate Programs

The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering which also allows for participation in URI's International Engineering Program. All programs are fully accredited by the national Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. The International Engineering Program is a five year curricula in which students earn a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. degree in a foreign language. This program has been developed jointly with the Department of Languages, and includes an internship abroad.

The department has active student chapters of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). These along with several other student groups provide opportunities for professional and social activities to enhance and compliment undergraduate studies. As a University, URI offers students a broad education in not only technical engineering courses but also in the arts, literature, and the humanities.

The complete undergraduate curricula may be found in ME curriculum. Undergraduate course offerings and descriptions may be found under course listings.
